NO hope for Arrested Development

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

Mitch Hurwitz the creator of FOX’s “Arrested Development” confirmed Monday that he has decided against continuing on with the series because he feels the show has reached its creative end. We all had hope that Showtime would pick up the show for new seasons, but it doesn’t seem like that will happen. Showtime president Robert Greenblatt said previously that the cable channel was interested in picking up the series, but only if Hurwitz was involved as the show runner.
Hurwitz told Variety that he would consider continuing on as a consultant, and that he would be interested in making a feature film of the series.
“I said I’d be happy to do that, but that as show runner, I’ve gone as far as I can go,” he said. Also there is a delay in the season 3 DVD release date, but no reasons why.

Isaac Hayes quits South Park

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Isaac Hayes if you don’t know does the voice for Chef on Comedy Centrals “South Park”. He recently quit the show cause he didn’t like the fact that they were making fun of Scientology. You would think that after all his character has made fun of making light of scientology wouldn’t hurt. As it turns out Isaac Hayes is a scientologist. In my opinion that isn’t even a religion so why would he be so anger after years of making fun of real religions. If you ask me good riddance. After all the years on south park making fun of everything under the sun he gets pissed cause of scientology. I don’t get that at all, and the fact that he quit proves how wrong and weird scientology really is. Matt Stone one of the creators of the show said “In 10 years and more than 150 episodes Isaac never had a problem with the show making fun of Christians, Muslims, Mormons and Jews. He got a sudden case of religious sensitivity when it was his religion featured on the show. To bring the civil rights struggle into this is just a non sequitur. Of course, we will release Isaac from his contract and we wish him well.”
