Unaired episodes of canceled shows

Thursday, January 19th, 2006

I take pride in seeing all there is for TV. I know talent when I see it on TV. So many shows in our lifetime have failed. The reason for this post is just about one show that pissed me off to see it go. I never ever like anything on CBS. But “Threshold” was the best thing they ever had and will have. They canceled that show, but I have so far seen two of the unaired episodes. I don’t know if its because the show is gone that makes it better or its just that the show was just getting started when it got cut. I’m sure there will be a DVD for it so I won’t tell you what happens. Its shows like “Threshold” that need to be picked up on cable networks. Threshold would be good competition for “The 4400″. It just makes me so mad when shows get cut leaving a plot hanging. That’s why I say time and time again write emails or letters to the networks, and sign the petitions for the shows to keep them going. Its sad to see good shows fail cause of the networks that air them.

New Pilot Deals for the networks for the new year

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

ABC’s “Six Degrees” revolves around the intertwined stories of a group of strangers in New York from different walks of life. Among the executive producers is J.J. Abrams, whose credits include Lost and Alias.

CBS’s “Jericho” chronicles the social, psychological, and physical chaos that ensues in a small town when it becomes isolated from the rest of the world after a nuclear disaster. Jon Turteltaub is executive producing it.

Also CBS’s “Orpheus” centers on a young man whose girlfriend is involved in a sophisticated, modern-day cult. UK filmmakers Tony and Sir Ridley Scott are among the executive producers.

FOX’s “Faceless” centers on a federal prosecutor who goes undercover as a criminal in order to take down a sprawling underworld organization. Joe Carnahan (Narc) is on board to direct and executive produce.

NBC’s “Heroes” is a two-hour pilot described as a large ensemble drama about a group of seemingly everyday people who discover that they have superpowers. Crossing Jordan creator Tim Kring is the writer/executive producer.

Also NBC’s “Seeing Red”, which has received a cast-contingent order, centers on an eccentric, brilliant cop who talks to dead victims that help him solve his cases. Speed screenwriter Graham Yost is the writer/executive producer.

The countdown begins

As you all should know I love “24″. I have made numerous posts about the new season including info on all new characters. To me “24″ is the show that made me fall in love with TV again. It was the only show that could make my heart feel like it was going to explode. My prediction what will happen this season is that we will see Jack’s daughter Kim come back. I think that if a character leaves a show they should go out with a bang. Last season we did not see Kim, but only heard jack talk about her and Chase once. Knowing the shows writers you never know what they’re going to do and who there going to do it too. They make you keep guessing while thinking about all these stories that are all happening at once. Its an amazing show and if you have never seen it, buy the DVD’s seasons 1-4 you will not be disappointed you did trust me. Just in case you all forgot season 5 of “24″ starts tonight with 2 hours of greatness, and another 2 hours tomorrow night.

Arrested Development News update

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

FOX has still not ordered any more episodes to be made for the third season of this show. As you know I did post a site to sign a petition to keep the show going. FOX has decided to air the final 4 episodes all at once. You can catch the rest of the season Friday February the 10th. Of course its the same night as the opening ceremony of the winter Olympics on NBC. ABC and Showtime have reportedly expressed interest in picking up “Arrested Development,” but for now the shows fate remains up in the air which is never a good thing at FOX.

Beauty and the Geek Return

Wednesday, January 11th, 2006

The second season premiere of this hit show will start up again Thursday January the 12th. If you haven’t seen the show I will give you a brief summary of it. Its about attractive women who got by on their appearances, and 7 intelligent men with limited social skills, who live in a house together, learning from each others’ weaknesses and strengths. Beauty and the Geek is Ashton Kutcher’s social experiment, which tested if seven beautiful women could work with seven intelligent men to become a whole lot more. At the end of its first season, which filmed in December in California, and premiered in June of 2005, the men and women involved came out better people – more confident, and more accepting. The second season, with eight new men, eight new women, and eight new episodes, will be starting in a new timeslot. Also still no word on a season 1 DVD.

Lost but not Forgotten

Monday, January 9th, 2006

Its been awhile since we have seen a new episode of ABC’s “Lost”. Well don’t worry the wait is over. The show returns Jan 11th. Also the new ABC series “Invasion” continues right after “Lost” airs. The holidays are over so all are favorite shows are coming back with new episodes, and that’s the best Christmas gift I could ever get.

Futurama To Follow in Family Guy Footsteps

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

There is a chance FOX’s “Futurama” might, might come back for a limited number of episodes. As you may or may not know Matt Groening the creator of “The Simpsons” created “Futurama”. Both “Family Guy” and “Futurama” are on the cartoon network. Well because of ratings and DVD sales “Family Guy” came back to life on FOX. The same might happen to “Futurama”. Of course the DVD sales of “Futurama” aren’t like the sales of “Family Guy’s” but its enough to open talks about the show again. I don’t know how many times I have told people if your a fan you have a voice. You can support the shows you love by giving it ratings on other networks, and buying the DVDs. You can also write letters and emails to the networks. Its a shame to have good shows have such a short run because of network decisions. But once they know they can make money they bring them back. All I care about is good shows staying alive and I hope you all do to.
