Bonus DVD’s and pre releases

Friday, September 30th, 2005

Best buy and Circuit City are in competition for your money. Usually Best Buy will get certain DVD’s before any other retailer does. Recently they started doing something Circuit City does which is give a bonus DVD. If you were one of the fans of Lost and got your DVD at Best Buy you got a Bonus DVD that has stuff that isn’t on the normal DVD. Similar but different Circuit city gives bonus DVD’s like the one for the new Family Guy DVD they gave a free DVD with purchase which has episodes of American Dad, Arrested Development, and Stacked. If you can’t wait for your shows to come out on the Scheduled release date don’t forget to check your local retailer to see if they already have and what free goodies you might just get.

Looks like my Fall pics are doing good in ratings

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

Well last weeks season premiere of Invasion had 23 million viewers if that Number keeps up we could get another season out of this new drama. My other fall pick Ghost Whisperer Did great in ratings as well. Of course the second season premiere of Lost would do great and it did. Lets hope the season premiere of Night Stalker does well tomorrow night. And last week, The second season premiere or Medium started and picked up just as well as the first season. Looks like people are into the supernatural dramas as I predicted.

Writer Sues Lost (ABC) Creators

Monday, September 5th, 2005

A television writer alleges fraud and breach of contract in a lawsuit directed at ABC and the creators of the hit sci-fi show Lost. Hollywood writer Anthony Spinner filed a lawsuit Friday claiming that ABC and “Lost” creators J.J Abrams and Damon Lindelof stole an idea he pitched to the network in 1977. Spinner says in that in 1977 he was hired by the producers of “Land of the lost” to create a show for ABC. The pilot he wrote was called Lost, and it involved a plane crash that stranded people in a mysterious place filled with peril and strange creatures. ABC has not made any comments regarding the lawsuit, but this is the second high-profile lawsuit the network has been slapped with in recent weeks, as Simon Cowell and the network were sued for allegedly stealing the idea for Cowell’s upcoming show, The Million Dollar Idea.

How networks go head to head for your ratings

Most networks are competing for your ratings. When its time for a new season with new series the networks usually have similar shows at the same time to get your ratings. This fall we have “Head Cases (FOX)” going up against “Just Legal (WB)” Both are shows about lawyers. For the supernatural craze for fall we have “Night Stalker (ABC)” going up against “Killer Instinct (FOX)”. Its amazing how similar these shows are yet so different. But ultimately its up to you the viewer to decide what is the better show.
